Saharanpur: Khatauli sugar mill has emerged as the top performer in terms of sugarcane crushing for the ongoing season, according to a report by Live Hindustan.
Notably, Deoband sugar mill has also achieved a remarkable feat in cane crushing this season. Except Morna sugar mill in Muzaffarnagar, all other sugar mills in the region have successfully completed their cane crushing operations for the current season.
The sugarcane department has reported that the sugar mills in the district have crushed a more quantity of cane compared to the previous crushing season. Khatauli sugar mill stands out by setting a record of crushing 248 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Deoband sugar mill has also reported crushing of 184.28 lakh quintals of sugarcane, while Thanabhavan sugar mill successfully crushed 127.24 lakh quintals of cane.
The sugarcane department notes that these figures are provisional and the final figures will be released in due course.
