Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh government is taking steps to increase ethanol production that will help to raise farmers income as well as generate employment.

Finance minister Jagdish Devda said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is conducting a series of meetings with the stakeholders in the industry sector that will boost industrial development by attracting investors.

He was speaking with the representatives of the industry groups on Monday ahead of the budget.

“We are exploring the possibilities of attracting investment in new areas like ethanol production that will help in increasing the income of farmers and generate employment,” Devda said.

Increasing ethanol production would help the country to achieve the set target of 20 per cent ethanol blending by 2025.
