Madhya Pradesh to bring ethanol policy after comparative study of other states

Bhopal: Like other states, Madhya Pradesh also aims to boost ethanol production in the state. Madhya Pradesh is planning to bring an ethanol policy to help the Centre to achieve a 20 per cent ethanol blending target by 2025.

According to the news report published in Dailypioneer.com, the proposed ethanol policy was discussed under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday. He asserted that the ethanol policy should be decided after doing a comparative study of policies from other states.

Addressing the meeting on Thursday, CM said that the interest of the state should be at the centre of the policy and benefit farmers as well as people in the state.

As per reports, the government also plans to provide incentives to attract investors to set up ethanol manufacturing plants in the state.

The central government with an aim to lower the expenditure on foreign exchange has set a target of blending 20 per cent ethanol with petrol by 2025. The roadmap for ethanol blending in India 2020-25 was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 5 this year on the occasion of World Environment Day.
