Maharashtra: Kolhapur division achieves sugar recovery above 11 per cent

Sugarcane crushing operations in Maharashtra are at peak with as many as 189 sugar mills participating in the crushing operations. The mills have produced 465.2 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 479.85 lakh tonne sugarcane with recovery rate of 9.69%, up to January 2, 2022.

Sugar mills in Kolhapur have achieved a recovery rate of 11% during the ongoing crushing season. The Mills have produced 127.60 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 115.94 lakh tonne sugarcane with recovery rate of 11.01%.

Solapur is leading in the state with maximum sugar mills (44) operating during this crushing season. The mills in Solapur division have produced 100.74 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 114.77 lakh tonne sugarcane with recovery rate of 8.78%.
