Kolhapur: Since this crushing season commenced, Uttar Pradesh witnessed many fire incidents, which destroyed sugarcane fields in huge numbers. Now, a similar incident happened in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur as well.
A sudden fire broke out in the sugarcane fields in the Prayag-Chikhali village of Kolhapur district causing damage of worth Rs 25 lakh. The standing sugarcane crop on an around 30-acre area belonging to 25 farmers from Kumbhar Patti and Kulki areas of Prayag-Chikhali village were damaged.
According to Karveer Police, the blaze broke out on Sunday evening in Kumbhar Patti and Kulki areas of Prayag-Chikhali village, which suffered heavy losses during last year floods.
