Maharashtra: Twenty sugar mills in Nanded division commence sugarcane crushing operations

Nanded, Maharashtra: Twenty sugar mills in Nanded division have officially kickstarted the sugarcane crushing season. According to the state sugarcane commissionerate report, out of 20 mills, 8 are cooperative and 12 are private mills.

Mills have produced 12.23 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 15.44 lakh tonnes sugarcane with an average sugar recovery rate of 7.92 per cent.

Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli and Latur districts come under Nanded division. According to the media report, total 26 sugar mills had applied for crushing season 2020-21, including 17 private and 9 cooperative sugar mills. Till date, 20 sugar mills have started cane crushing season.
