Meghalaya: Police, BSF seize 25,000 Kgs of sugar

Security forces in India’s northeastern states have made significant seizures of contraband in recent operations.

On March 18, the vigilant troops of 200 Bn BSF Meghalaya, in collaboration with Meghalaya Police, carried out a joint operation leading to the confiscation of 20,000 kg quantity of sugar.

The illegal consignment was intercepted near the Rongra bordering area along the South Garo Hills International border, where it was destined for smuggling into Bangladesh.

This successful operation underscores the steadfast commitment of the security forces in combating illicit activities along the border. The seized sugar, intended for unlawful cross-border trade, was promptly handed over to the Rongra police for further necessary legal proceedings.
