Meghalaya: Sohra administration warns against sugar hoarding

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (S) overseeing the Sohra Civil Sub-Division has issued a warning against any attempts to hoard sugar to inflate prices, reported Highland Post.

As per media reports, in a notice issued, stock traders, wholesalers, retailers, sugar processors, et al under the sub-division were told to refrain from hoarding sugar in order to create artificial shortages and, therefore, an inflation in price.

Furthermore, the ADC has specifically directed those falling under the purview of this advisory to promptly register and upload their sugar stock information on the government portal http://esugar.nic.in. This move is intended to facilitate real-time monitoring of sugar stock levels, ensuring transparency and accountability within the industry.
