Millers expect to achieve sugar export target of 60 lakh tonnes

Pune: Sugar millers in the country are expecting to meet the sugar export target of 60 lakh tonnes in the current season also. In the previous season, mills in the country had exported 59 lakh tonnes, close to to the target of 60 lakh tonnes.

According to the Indianexpress.com, Jaiprakash Dandegaonkar, Chairman, National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories said, “The sugar export began late this season, but the country could avail of the before April window to make the most. Post April, the Brazilian mills would start operations and dominate the international sugar markets.”
