Monsoon arrives 8 days early in Rajasthan

Pune: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of extreme heavy spells (more than 204.4mm in 24 hours) over the west and east Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Southwest monsoon has started progressing after a break of five days and has entered southeast Rajasthan, covered most areas of Gujarat and more areas of both Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

Monsoon has entered Rajasthan eight days ahead of schedule this year. Usually, the monsoon reaches Dholpur located in the desert area of the state in eastern parts on June 28.

Along with this, the Southwest monsoon continues to advance vigorously over the west coast and along Gangetic plains and West Bengal.
