MP Malook Nagar raises cane payment issue in Parliament

Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Member of Parliament Malook Nagar raised the issue of the pending cane dues during the first day of the Lok Sabha session on Monday. While raising the issue he asked the government about its promises to double the income of farmers, clearing pending cane dues of farmers that are affecting the rural economy of the country.

He demanded that the government should increase the purchasing rate of the sugarcane crop that will help farmers to boost their income. He also stated that the sugar mills across the country owe crores of rupees to the sugarcane farmers.

Sugarcane farmers in the state stated that due to pending cane dues they are suffering from financial scarcity. Sugar mills claim that low sugar sales have affected their capital owing to which they are unable to clear the dues.
