MPs urge Union minister to resolve issues of sugarcane farmers

Khammam: A group of MPs from Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha led by BRS Parliamentary leader Nama Nageswara Rao urged the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to resolve the issues faced by the sugarcane farmers, reports The Hans India.

The MPs said that the cane farmers are facing financial losses as the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) fixed by the Centre is below their cost of production and the government should hike the FRP from Rs 305 to Rs 350.

MPs of the respective states shared the grievances of the sugarcane farmers in their states with the minister and requested to address their problems.
