Lucknow: Looking at the demands from local consumers, mills are coming up with retail outlets.
According to the news report published by Amar Ujala, Pipraich and Munderwa sugar mills of Uttar Pradesh State Sugar Corporation will open retail counters. Sugar from these mills will also be available in five kg packets and five gram sachets. On Wednesday, Sugarcane Minister Laxmi Narayan Choudhary will inaugurate counters at Lucknow Cane Institute Center. Till now, the sugar produced by these mills were available only in 50 kg packing.
Around 27 sugar mills run by Uttar Pradesh state sugarcane corporation produce quality sugar with no sulphur in it. The sulphurless sugar produced from Pipraich and Munderwa mills are in much demand in the market.
The Chief Minister of the state has asked the authorities to take steps that would improve the financial condition of farmers.
