MySugar factory will not be privatised, assures minister

Mandya: State government will not privatise the MySugar factory and will run it considering the sentiments of the local people, said Sugar and labour minister Shivram Hebbar.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the factory, he said, “MySugar, which is a pride of Mandya district, will be run by the Government or under a Public-Private Partnership.”

He said it will be ensured that the cane growers don’t face any difficulties in the future. And also pointed out that the state government has released Rs.22 crore to restart the sugar mill.

Earlier, Former chief minister and leader of the opposition Siddharamaiah had urged the state government to not to privatize MySugar mill and retain it under government control.
