Naraingarh sugar mill to clear cane dues of Rs 35 crore by April 20

Ambala: According to the media reports, the Naraingarh sugar mill has agreed to clear some part of the pending cane dues to the sugarcane farmers by April 20.

After the BKU (Churani) group launched an agitation for pending dues, the members of BKU (Tikait) met the officials of the sugar mill at Banondi village for demanding pending cane dues.

The mill management had expressed helplessness in timely clearance of dues due to its poor performance and its loan request had also been turned down by the Harco Bank.

Baldev Singh, BKU (Tikait) Mandal president said, “After we threatened to launch agitation, the mill management has agreed to clear some part of the dues i.e. Rs 35 crore to the cane farmers by April 20. If the mill fails to abide by rules, we will launch an agitation from April 22.”
