“No decision yet on the privatization of MySugar factory”

Bengaluru: Murugesh Nirani, BJP MLA and Chairman of Nirani Sugars has stated that his company is not lobbying to takeover MySugar factory and the government has not yet taken a decision on privatization of the mill.

Nirani has issued a press release in which he stated that rumours are being spread that Nirani Sugar company is trying to take over Mandya’s MySugar factory. But one must note that it is not possible for anyone to get the contract directly and the factory, if proposed, has to be taken on lease only through a global tender, he said and added that the only the highest bidder can bag the tender, with the entire process to be conducted in a transparent manner.

Recently, Nirani sugar has won the lease bid to run Pandavapura Sahakara Sakkare Kharkhane Niyamita (PSSKL). The farmers were facing trouble due to the closure of the mill, but once the mill resume operation, it is likely to benefit the cane growers.
