Now you can sell old refrigerator, washing machine and AC to government

New Delhi: Modi government is planning to launch Steel Scrap Policy from next week in which one can sell his old refrigerator, AC and washing machine to the government to earn a profit.

According to media reports, scrappage centres will be built at many locations under this policy. People will be able to sell scrap by visiting these centres. All types of old steel will be included in this.

The government will provide incentives to the seller after selling scrap. Earlier government had included only vehicles in the scheme. The government is fixing the incentive and other rates and will soon float the scheme.

The police will boost the sale of new cars and will help to reel the automobile industry. This will also help in reducing the import of iron. In India, around 60 lakh tonne scrap steel is imported every year.
