NSI’s senior research fellow to carryout advance research in “Natural & Physical Science” at James Cook University, Australia

Ms. Shalini Kumari, Senior Research Fellow working in the Physical Chemistry Division of National Sugar Institute, Kanpur to carryout advance research in “Natural & Physical Science” at James Cook University, Australia. Offer to this effect has been received from the university.

Shalini Kumari has successfully conducted research and development work on production of Bio-char from sugarcane and sweet sorghum bagasse besides developing Nano Silica Particles from ash of the boilers where bagasse is used as fuel.

She is at present working on developing low cost environment friendly bio-de-colorizing agents for treatment of waste waters and effluents from sugar industry. We are confident that she is going to encash the opportunity to develop some such products which will be useful for the sugar industry globally, said Shri Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute, Kanpur.
