Michael Wanjala, Chief Executive of Nzoia sugar mill, has launched an aggressive plan to rescue the ailing mill. It is facing several problems including lack of raw material and huge debt.
Wanjala after taking charge of the mill in August has launched rapid result initiative (RRI) to bring back sugar mill on track.
Wanjala said,” We are using RRI strategy, which means using available sources to increase productivity without adding more expense. We have focused on raw material, sugarcane.”
Wanjala wants to move the company closer to the farmers by organising the sugar miller’s 26 outreach offices in four regions.
