Overdate parchi: Sugarcane department gives relief to cane growers

Lucknow: In compliance of the orders given by Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to provide all possible facilities to sugarcane farmers in supply of their sugarcane and instruction issued by Hon’ble Minister Sugar Industry and Cane Development, Shri Suresh Rana in this regard, commissioner Cane and Sugar Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy said, that the farmers would not have to visit the Cane Development if a farmer could not supply his cane on his issued parchi within the stipulated period, due to marriage function, waterlogging in the field or for any other reason, then arrangements have been made that parchi of farmers will be automatically re-validated in the indent of upcoming dates and will reach farmers as S.M.S. parchi again.

Giving detailed information in this regard he said, that in the past, farmers have to visit Cane Development Societies to submit their overdate parchi and after submitting it, the farmers could have re-validated (re-dated) it only once. But in order to facilitate the farmers, this year it has been decided that two chances will be given to the farmers for revalidation of overdate parchi. If the parchi get overdated and remain un-weighed due to any reason then through E.R.P., that parchi will be re-issued automatically in indent of upcoming dates. If the farmer is still not able to get it weighed then this parchi will again be re-issued in indent of upcoming dates to give farmer a second chance to supply cane on his parchi. The parchi number of the re-issued parchies will be the same as the number on which parchi was released for the first time, so that the parchi cannot be weighed twice in any case. On re-issued S.M.S. parchi, the last letter will be ‘H’ so that farmer may know that their overdate parchi has been issued again.

Shri Bhoosreddy also informed that this will save farmers from an unnecessary visit of Cane Development Societies and offices during this Corona period. The opportunity of re-issuance after re-validation of over weighed parchi will be given twice so that farmers can supply his sugarcane as per their convenience and the parchi will not go waste. Now the farmers sitting at home will get re-issued S.M.S. parchi in place of over-date parchi. This will also help in preventing the spread of Covid-19 epidemic and will also save the time and money of the farmers, which they will have to incur in running between offices.
