Pakistan facing sugar shortage due to bad policies: Sindh CM

Karachi: The defective policies of the government has led to the worsening situation of the sugar sector in Pakistan, said Syed Murad Ali Shah, chief minister of Sindh, reports local media in Pakistan.

He was speaking on a dais of the reception organised at the CM house for the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and other leading businessmen.

“Our policies are not business-friendly which has affected the present situation which is worsening further. A few years ago we were exporting sugar to other countries but now the situation has turned around and we are not able to produce even to meet our domestic needs. We have become a sugar importing country now,” he further added.

He urged the businessmen to set up export-oriented industrial units so that the country could improve its financial condition.
