Pakistan: Government takes action against those selling sugar at higher rate

Lahore: Pakistan seems to be strict over high prices of sugar. Taking stern action against the sugar hoarders, the city district administration has imposed a fine of Rs 92,500 on sugar hoarders that were found selling sugar at the higher rate than the rate fixed by the government, that is Rs 70 per kg.

The civic administration conducted the surprise check in the market and checked sugar prices at 315 shops and found 28 have violated the order. Cases have been registered against them under relevant sections.
The price control magistrates are conducting raids across the city as per the guidelines of the Deputy Commissioner Danish Afzai to ensure that the sugar is available for sale in the market at the government rate.
