Pakistan government wants sugar mills to sell sugar at Rs 70 per kg

Islamabad: Barrister Shahzad Akbar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability said that sugar mills should provide sugar to consumers at Rs 70 per kg. And mills owners would have to follow the court orders in this regard.

While speaking to a private news channel, he said, “The government is keeping a check on this and has warned to mills to strictly follow the court orders.”

Government is committed to ensure relief to masses and will provide essential items to people at affordable prices, he said.

“The government is also planning to prevent a regulatory framework based on the recommendation so that no one cane earn profit using illegal practices,” he further added.
