Philippines: President orders sugar importation “through selected importers”, says Panganiban

In a Senate blue ribbon committee hearing, Agriculture Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban disclosed on Tuesday that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had directed the importation of sugar “through selected importers.”

Pressed by Sen. Francis Tolentino to clarify what Marcos told him after a Cabinet meeting, Panganiban said the president directed him to “import through selected importers of sugar.”
