Prices of sugar increase by 46% in Kyrgyzstan

The press service of the National Statistics Committee Kyrgyzstan has stated that the prices of granulated sugar have increased by 46% in a year.

The data collected by the committee from 18 settlements of the republic has revealed that the average prices of sugar were KGS 59.93 (about $0.71) on February 25, 2001. The prices have been increased by 46%, around KGS 18.87 compared with last year during the same period.
The increase in the prices of sugar, above the average price of sugar in the republic was recorded in Osh city (KGS 64.27 per kg), Dzhalal-Abad town (KGS 64.33 per kg) and Isafana town (KGS 63.65 per kg).

Average lower prices of sugar were recorded in Nookat town (KGS 50.00 per kg) Osh city (KGS 48.53 per kg) and Uzgen town (KGS 46.82 per kg).
The republic witnessed the highest prices of granulated sugar this year in Kara-Balta town (by 12.7%), Toktogul town (by 12.1%) and in Dzhalal-Abad town (by 14%).
