Untimely rainfall in Punjab has affected many crops including wheat. This is likely to impact the crops production.
As per news report published in The Tribune, Agriculture Department estimated that Punjab may see a 10 to 15 per cent yield loss this wheat harvesting season. A total of 34.90 lakh hectares is under wheat in the state.
Fazilka district has witnessed the maximum damaged, and as per estimation around 50 per cent crop has been affected. In Moga, Bathinda, Mansa, Muktsar, Ferozepur, Kapurthala and Patiala districts, crop on 15 to 20 per cent area under wheat has been impacted due to untimely rainfall.
