Saharanpur: Todarpur sugar mill expected to start crushing season on October 26

Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Sugar mills in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, India, have started preparations for the upcoming crushing season. Todarpur Sugar Mill, which has been closed for several years, will be the first to start crushing on October 26. Gagan Nauli Sugar Mill is expected to start crushing on October 31, reported Amar Ujala.

Sugarcane department officials are inspecting the mills’ repair work to ensure that the crushing season starts on time. All eight sugar mills in the district, including Todarpur and Bidwi, which have been closed for a long time, are expected to operate this season.

The district has a sugarcane area of 121,754 hectares this year. With all eight sugar mills in operation, there will be competition among the mills for sugarcane allocation. The allocation of sugarcane to sugar mills is expected to be announced soon.
