Season 2023-24: Sugar production to increase in France, says CGB

Paris: According to the growers group CGB, sugar beet production in France is anticipated to reach 31.5 million metric tonnes this year, showing a slight increase from the 2022 figure of about 31 million tonnes. This estimate is marginally higher than the latest forecast by the French farm ministry, which predicted 31.28 million tonnes, reported Reuters.

Sugar production from the sugar beet crop is expected to see a rise. The forecast for the 2023-24 season indicates an increase to 3.7 million tonnes, compared to 3.6 million tonnes in the previous season (2022-23). These insights were shared by the CGB in a presentation.
