Hyderabad: With the arrival of the summer season, demand for sugarcane juice increases but sugarcane suppliers and vendors are worried due to surging Covid-19 cases in the city.
A sugarcane supplier in Basheerbagh said, “The lockdown imposed last year forced us to throw our sugarcane. This year I have stocked 12 tonnes of sugarcane but with the rising number of Covid cases we rarely get customers for the cane.”
A sugarcane juice located at King Koti said that we used to make Rs 500 to Rs 800 per day earlier but with the Covid threat looming we hardly make Rs 300 per day.
