The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. On April 22, Sensex closed 714.53 points lower at 57,197.15. Nifty ended 220.65 points lower at 17,171.95.
In the previous season, on April 21, Sensex closed 874.18 points higher at 57,911.68. Nifty ended 264.30 points higher at 17,400.85.
Hindalco Industries, SBI, Cipla, IndusInd Bank and HUL were among the top Nifty losers. Adani Ports, M&M, Bharti Airtel, ITC and Maruti Suzuki were the top gainers.
