Equity Indices ended on lower note today. On August 22, Sensex closed 872.28 points lower at 58,773.87. Nifty ended 267.75 points lower at 17,490.70.
In the previous season, on August 19, Sensex closed 651.85 points lower at 59,646.15. Nifty ended 228.30 points lower at 17,728.20.
Tata Steel, Asian Paints, Adani Ports, Tata Motors and JSW Steel were among the major Nifty lowers. The gainers were ITC, Coal India, Tata Consumer Products, Nestle India and Britannia Industries.
