Sensex ends higher after 6 day fall

Mumbai: After 6 days of continuous fall, Sensex and Nifty ended marginally higher. The BSE Sensex settled 51.81 points higher at 37,882.79. Similarly, Nifty ended 32.15 points higher at 11,284.30.

Yes Bank, Hero MotoCorp, M&M, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, Asian Paints and Kotak Bank were among the top gainers today rising up to 9.64 per cent.

Top losers in the Sensex pack included Vedanta, RIL, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, HDFC, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech and Infosys falling up to 4.26 per cent.

On the currency front, the Indian rupee appreciated 7 paise to 68.97 against the US dollar.

The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.50 per cent higher at $63.71 per barrel.
