Sensex falls 200 points, Nifty below 11550

Mumbai: Amid heavy foreign fund outflow and weak domestic headwinds, Sensex dropped nearly 200 points in early trade on July 19.

BSE Sensex was trading 201.04 points lower at 38,696.42 at 09:55 am. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty fell 66.75 points to 11,530.15..

Tata Steel, TCS, Vedanta, HUCL, PowerGrid, HCL Tech, HDFC Bank and Infosys were among the top gainers up to 0.60 per cent.

Top losers in the Sensex pack included Yes Bank, M&M, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, ONGC and Maruti falling up to 2.27 per cent.

On the currency front, the Indian rupee appreciated 18 paise to 68.78 against the US dollar.

The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 1.92 per cent higher at 63.12 per barrel.
