Mumbai: Sensex today on Tuesday was trading 106.37 points higher at 39,356.57, while NSE Nifty surged 16.75 points at 11,643.90 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:20 am, Sensex was trading at 39,540 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,711 points.
Tata Motors, Tata Steel, M&M, Vedanta, TCS and Maruti were among the top gainers.
Bharti Airtel, Yes Bank, Kotak Bank, HUL, NTPC, Asian Paints, PowerGrid and SBI were among the top losers.
On the currency front, the rupee appreciated 16 paise against the US dollar to trade at 70.73 in early session.
