Sensex, Nifty start on a volatile note on weak global cues

Mumbai: Amid weak cues from global markets as concerns over US political uncertainty kept investors on edge, Sensex and Nifty started on a volatile note today.

BSE Sensex today on 27th September 2019 was trading 38.89 points higher at 38,879.19 at 09:35 am. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty rose 5.85 points at 11,577.05 in morning trade.

Similarly, at 10:33 am, Sensex was trading at 38,918.71 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,540.35 points.

ITC, NTPC, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, SBI, HCL Tech, HDFC and Maruti were among the top gainers rising up to 2 per cent.

Yes Bank, Tata Motors, Vedanta, Tata Steel, Asian Paints, ONGC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, IndusInd Bank and Hero MotoCorp were among the top losers falling up to 3 per cent.

On the currency front, the Indian rupee depreciated 4 paise against its previous close at 70.92 in early session.

Global oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.97 per cent to 62.13 per barrel.
