Shamli sugar mill concludes cane crushing season

Shamli: The cane crushing season at Shamli sugar mill has come to an end after the mill successfully crushed 99.80 lakh quintals of sugarcane, reports Live Hindustan.

Although the mill had set a record last year by crushing 1.07 crore quintals of sugarcane, this year the operations faced several interruptions due to technical glitches. Despite the challenges, mill officials expressed their appreciation to each other, as well as the employees and farmers, for the successful conclusion of the cane crushing season.

However, it is worth noting that the mill is behind in clearing the cane dues of the farmers. The mill currently owes crores of rupees to the cane farmers for the ongoing crushing season. The issue of pending payments remains a concern for the farmers, and they hope for a resolution to this matter soon.

The conclusion of the cane crushing season marks an important milestone for Shamli Sugar Mill, and efforts are expected to be made to address the outstanding dues and ensure a smoother operation in the future.
