Siswa sugar mill clears cane dues of farmers

Maharajganj: Siswa sugar mill, a part of the Indian Potash Ltd group, has cleared all pending cane dues owed to farmers for the 2022-23 crushing season, reports Live Hindustan.

Ashutosh Awasthi, the unit head, and Karamveer Singh, the Chief Sugarcane Manager, confirmed that the mill has crushed a total of 29.30 lakh quintals of sugarcane, amounting to Rs 103 crore. The entire payment has been transferred to the respective bank accounts of the sugarcane farmers.

They further urged farmers to take care of their cane crops, advising them to apply pesticides and insecticides to prevent the spread of diseases, particularly with the rise in temperature caused by delayed rainfall.

In regards to the upcoming 2023-24 crushing season, the sugarcane survey process is in its final stage. The mill officials have appealed to farmers to complete the online declaration forms accurately, providing correct information as required.
