Sri Lanka: Sathosa to get 500 containers of sugar from Ports Authority

Colombo: The 500 containers of sugar imported to the country, when a ban on imports was imposed in the country, will be handed over to the Lanka Sathosa by Ports Authority.

Nihal Seneviratne, Vice President of the Sugar Importers’ Association said that his association has agreed to hand over the sugar to the Sathosa.

Chairman of the Lanka Sathosa (Retired) Rear Admiral Ananda Weerasekera said a discussion will be arranged soon with the importers in this regard. He said that the price of the sugar will be fixed after discussion with them during the meeting.

Sathosa will soon distribute the sugar to the people across the country.
