Uttar Pradesh government committed to promote economic interests of sugarcane farmers: Minister

Lucknow: Within 100 days after returning to power our government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath has paid Rs 12,530 crore of cane dues to the farmers which is 55 per cent more than the target, said Sugarcane minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, reports The Times of India.

He said that till date the government has paid more than Rs 1,76,686 crores to the cane farmers

“The state government is determined to promote the economic interests of sugarcane farmers and their all-round development. The priority of the government was to ensure that farmers get their cane dues in time,” minister said.

He further said that the assessment of the sugarcane area for the crushing season 2022-23 has been completed before the set deadline. The policy focuses on completing the survey with accuracy as with timeliness and will help in strengthening the action plan for sugarcane supply.
