Sugar Factories To Remain Shut On FRP Rate

With the rising aggression on the demand of FRP plus Rs.200 per tonne sugarcane, sugarcane owners who already had begun its crushing have decided to keep their factories shut from today. The decision was taken during a meeting yesterday which included both cooperative and private sugar mills. The millers deliberated on various issues following the demands made by various farmers organisations.

Based on all the aspects of FRP, valuation of sugar, loans provided by banks etc, millers have abstained from sugarcane crushing unless the Govt. provides some financial assistance. Mills who have already begun with crushing will remain closed whereas those who have not begun crushing will await until some financial assistance is ensured.
