Sugar mill to spend Rs 35 crore to repair machines ahead of upcoming crushing season

Muzaffarnagar: The machinery and boiler of the sugar will be repaired by spending Rs 35 crore to make it ready for the 2022-23 crushing season, reports Dainik Jagran.

As per reports, the crushing capacity of the Triveni sugar mill, Khatauli is 1.60 lakh quintals per day. The mill is not crushing to its full capacity due to the lack of cane availability and it is crushing 1.25 lakh quintal cane per day.

Dr Ashok Kumar, vice president of the mill said, that the cost of repair of the machinery is around Rs 35 crore and the repair work will be completed soon. During last season the mill operated for 199 days and crushed 225 lakh quintal cane and has paid RS 777 crore to the cane farmers against the purchase of the cane.
