Bulandshahar: DM Chandra Prakash Singh has asked the sugar mills in the district to clear the pending cane dues of the farmers on a priority basis, reports Live Hindustan.
He had convened a meeting of sugar millers and officials to discuss the issues related to the sugarcane sector during which he asked the millers to ensure that they clear 100% cane dues of the farmers.
DCO B K Patel said that the farmers from the district send cane to the 8 mills. Sabitgarh and Anupshahar sugar mills have cleared 100% of cane dues. The wave mill of Bulandshahar is to pay Rs 30.26 crore to the farmers. Brajnathpur sugar mill from the Hapur district owes Rs 25.87 crore and Simbhawali mill owes Rs 24.06 crore to the cane farmers. DM has given a deadline of 15 days to these three mills to clear the pending cane dues of the farmers.
