Mau,, Uttar Pradesh: District Collector Arun Kumar has asked the sugar mills in the district to complete repair and maintenance work on time so that they are ready to take up crushing operations for next season without delay, reports Dainik Jagran.
He had organized a meeting on Friday to review the sugarcane department.
District cane officer Sunil Kumar Singh said that the sugar mills in the district have cleared 81 per cent of the cane dues to the farmers so far and the remaining dues will be paid soon.
During the meeting, the cane officer also shared the cane purchase rates for normal, early, and late variety of cane that the government has fixed for the 2021 season.
The district collector has asked the mill officials to speed up the payment of pending cane dues.
