Sugar mills’ cane yard becomes garbage dumping ground

Gaya: Residents are facing health problems as the Guraru based sugar mill’s cane yard has become the garbage dumping ground. Adding to their woes, the water from nearby nullah is mixing in it, and the area has become the breeding ground for mosquitoes.

During the tenure of Gita Devi, the former head of the Gudru Gram Panchayat, fogging machines were procured to protect against mosquitoes and DDT was regularly sprayed throughout the market area. However, after the end of Gita Devi’s tenure, the fogging machine is still untouched. Due to which there is no action for the effective prevention of mosquitoes in the market area.

Locals have demanded to make use of a fogging machine to spread DDT to eliminate the mosquitoes problem.
