Manglaur, Uttarakhand: Sugar mills from the district have been directed to start cane crushing season in time.
Ganna Samiti official Sushil Rathi gave this instruction to the officials in the review meeting held on Monday. He said that the sugar mill is also being pressurized for sugarcane payment. Sugarcane farmers will get their cane dues soon.
The lockdown imposed by the government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus pandemic has also affected many sugar mills across India. Mills claim that due to lack of finance they are unable to clear cane arrears.
