Sugar mills express intention to start Covid care centres in their vicinity

Kolhapur: Responding to the appeal of the administration, Sugar mills are likely to set up Covid care centres.

Sharad Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, asked the co-operative minister Balasaheb Patil to urge sugar mills to erect the centres wherever necessary.

According to the news report published in The Times Of India, Three sugar factories — two from Kolhapur and one from Sangli district — have expressed their intention to start such centres in their vicinity.

Recently, with the surge in the number of cases in Kolhapur District, collector Daulat Desai has passed an order notifying every sugar mill in the district to set up a 100 oxygenated beds Covid care centre.
