Sugar mills should also focus on producing power, ethanol, and hydrogen: Sharad Pawar

Nashik: Sugar mills should increase emphasis on making by-products to make the sugar factory viable and profitable, said NCP chief Sharad Pawar while addressing a gathering at the function.

He was speaking while inaugurating the cane crushing season at Ranwad cooperative sugar mill that resumed operations after six years.

According to the news report published in The Times of India, replying to the issue of power supply raised by local MLA Dilip Bankar, Pawar said, he will urge the state government to supply power to farmers in daytime.

Pawar said, “Mills should also focus on producing power, ethanol, and hydrogen to make the mill profitable. It will help farmers to get a better price for their produce.”
