Gorakhpur: Sugarcane farmers who are in stress due to pending cane arrears will get respite as they are likely to see ‘good days’ soon, claims former minister in UP government, Radheshyam Singh. He said now mills in the state are not only producing sugar but also emphasizing on the production of ethanol and other things, which will aid in increasing the revenue of sugarcane farmers.
Addressing the sugarcane farmers’ workshop at Sugarcane Farmers Institute in Pipraich, he said, “The government is planning to uplift the sugarcane sector by producing products other than sugar that will help the cane producing farmers and improve their financial condition.”
“The government will also emphasize on the production of packaged cane juice which would be available in all the seasons,“ Singh further added.
