The prices of sugar and other items in North Korea have increased as the country is facing a shortage of supply owing to the import crisis.
The country is currently in a self-imposed lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic and under international United Nations sanctions.
According to the Associated Press, The borders of the country are closed and have reduced the import of food items like sugar and others. The trade volume of the country with China has been reduced by 75 per cent in the first 10 months. This has resulted in a shortage of raw materials and food items in the country.
