Sugar production dips in Vietnam

Vietnam’s national index of industrial production witnessed a hike of 2.4 per cent in the first 9 months of this year but the sugar output has declined.

According to the General Statistics Office, the sugar output has been reduced by 22.7 per cent year on year. Liquefied petroleum gas was also down by 16.7 per cent.

The office has noted that the coronavirus pandemic has affected the supply chain increasing the difficulties for local industrial production. The processing and manufacturing sectors, however, rose by 3.8 per cent.
